KBC: Diljit Dosanjh Wins 50 Lakhs For Punjab Flood Relief, Singer Impressed host With His Wit

Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, which aired on October 31. The singer won Rs 50 lakhs and he pledged to play for Punjab and donate entire earnings for flood relief in Punjab.

The singer managed to go ahead for quite long time without a lifeline. This even made the host say that, “Aap singer hi nahi lekin vidhwaan bhi hai.” Earlier Controversy erupted after a promo showed Diljit touching Bachchan’s feet, prompting a threat from the Khalistan group SFJ.

However, On Friday, taking to his Instagram story Diljit wrote in Punjabi, "Na Mai Kisey Film Di Promotion Lai Geya c, Na Kisey Ganey Di Promotion Lai. Punjab Floods Lai Geya C..Ke National Level Te Gal Hove.. Te Loki Donate kar Sakan."

Diljit donated the money through the Global Sikh Organization for the flood-affected people of Punjab. He said that he wanted to win more money for the flood victims, but the timer ran out as the hooter buzzed.

As soon as Diljit appeared on the stage of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) the audience welcomed him with loud applause. The show’s host and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan greeted him, saying, “Punjab da puttar (Son of Punjab).”

Amitabh Bachchan shared that he has a deep connection with Punjab. His mother belonged to the Sodhi family from Punjab. He also narrated the story of how his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, met his mother, Teji Kaur.
