Bollywood singer of Punjab origin, Mika Singh, on Tuesday came down heavily on Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh for doing a film with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. Diljit Dosanjh has been facing criticism on social media ever since Sardaar Ji 3 trailer was released. The criticism intensified when Diljit promoted one of the songs of the movie on his Instagram, in which he was seen romancing with Hania Aamir. Diljit was reminded by fans on social media of how Hania Aamir used derogatory language against the Indian Army after Operation Sindoor. Now, Mika Singh has joined the chorus and lambasted the Sardaar Ji 3 actor, calling him a 'fake singer'.
Mika Singh in his Instagram story wrote, "DESH PEHLE (Nation First)
Guys, as we all know, the relationship between India and Pakistan isn’t going well right now. Yet some people continue to act irresponsibly. Before releasing any content that involves artists from across the border, they should think twice — especially when our nation’s dignity is involved.
There was a film featuring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor that many of us opposed, and yet, some still don’t seem to get the message. What’s more shocking is that a fake singer, after doing 10 shows in India with thousands of fans buying tickets, has now disappeared — leaving fans betrayed and helpless."
Diljit Dosanjh breaks silence on Hania Aamir's controversy
Diljit in an interview with BBC Asian Network, addressed the controversy and said, "Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha. We shot this in February, and then everything was fine. (When the film was made, everything was. We shot the film in February, and everything was fine back then)."
"Uske baad, bahut saari badi cheezen humare haath mein nahi hai. Toh producers ne decide kiya ki film obviously ab India toh nahi lagegi, toh overseas release karte hain. Toh producers ka bahut paisa laga hua hai aur jab yeh film bann rahi thi tab aisa kuch tha nahi. (After that a lot of things happened, which are beyond our control. The producer decided that the film will not be released in India, so they can release it overseas. They have invested a lot of money, and when the film was being made, nothing like this was happening)"
Diljit further expressed his support to the Producers and said, "They know that there will be a loss because you're removing an entire territory. Even when I signed the film, everything was fine. Now, the situation is not in our hands. So, if the producers want to release it abroad, I support them."
