The captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, Harmanpreet Kaur, has earned a new nickname after being called the “Lady Kapil Dev.” Her teammates now fondly call her “Thor.” This nickname became the theme of a fun rap video created by cricketers Harleen Deol and Jemimah Rodrigues.

The rap’s lyrics go “Yeh Kaur nahi, Thor hai” (She’s not Kaur, she’s Thor). The video, shared on social media platform X, was originally recorded before the World Cup win but released after the victory to celebrate the team’s success.

In the rap, Harleen and Jemimah describe Harmanpreet as the “captain who hits sixes” and praise her as the pride of Punjab.

The lyrics said:

“Naam ke peeche Kaur hai, log kehte isse Thor hai, Punjabiyon ki shaan hai, yeh ladki Shaktimaan hai.”

After delivering these lines, the two players laugh and declare confidently, “We’re the ones bringing the World Cup home!”

Harmanpreet to Visit Hometown Moga After World Cup Win

After leading India to a historic World Cup victory, Harmanpreet Kaur, the daughter of Moga, Punjab, is all set to visit her hometown soon. During a recent video call with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Harmanpreet revealed that her team has a few post-tournament events scheduled. Once those are done, she will travel to Punjab to celebrate with her people

In the World Cup final, Harmanpreet caught the final catch that sealed India’s win. She decided to keep that last ball as a personal memento. During her meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he asked her the story behind it. Smiling, Harman said,

“It was God’s plan. I never thought the last ball and last catch would come to me. After so many years of hard work, when that moment arrived, I decided this ball would stay with me. It’s still in my bag.”

The final match between India and South Africa took place on November 2. The Indian women’s team triumphed by 52 runs, clinching the World Cup title.
