A man working in a private company in Bangalore filed a complaint to police against his wife alleging that she treats him like a slave and almost smothered him with a pillow In their last conflict.

The plaintiff is a resident of Nagarabhavi, Bangalore in Karnataka. Kiran (name changed), the husband got married to Priya (name changed) in January 2020. Just within a few days of marriage, Kiran alleges that Priya started to treat him as a slave and began lashing him regularly.

He added that his wife used to ask him to buy valuables and expensive things. The husband bought her everything she wanted inclusive of a car for her personal use.

Kiran claims that he took very good care of his wife but she still used to lash him and intimidate him over one or another issue.

As told by Kiran, harassment by his wife took an intense turn on the night of September 25. On that night, Kiran had fastened the door since it was 10:30 pm but his wife wanted to go out.

He asked his wife not to go out since it was late. In response, Priya tried to fight with him but instead of heating the argument he avoided it and went to sleep.

As he went to sleep at night, he complains that his wife climbed up the bed and tried to stifle him to death by putting a pillow on his face.  Suffocated Kiran pushed his wife aside which ended in physical assault on him by her. Kiran also told that he was badly bit by his wife on the knee.

Over the fight, they called the police. The police counseled them and Kiran's husband was taken to the hospital for treatment.

A senior police officer said that this was not their first time fighting. The couple had involved the police in their fight earlier also.
