In a significant boost to the Aam Aadmi Party’s outreach to the business community, Delhi’s former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia welcomed Jalandhar-based industrialist Nitin Kohli into the party fold on Thursday. Industrialist and Hockey India Vice President Nitin Kohli has been appointed as the Halqa In-Charge for Jalandhar Central. Sisodia also highlighted that industrialists are increasingly seeing AAP as a platform that understands and supports economic development. Below is what Manish Sisodia said on Nitin Kohli-
"Today is a very happy day for the AAP family as Punjab's well-known personality, industrialist, and a responsible citizen has joined the Aam Aadmi Party officially. Since the inception of the Aam Aadmi Party, Nitin Kohli has been working for the party. You all know him. He is not new to the people of Jalandhar. Along with his family business in Jalandhar, he has stepped into multiple businesses. He has given jobs to 2500 people from Punjab. He is contributing to Punjab's economy," said Manish Sisodhia.
Sisodia further said, "It is a matter of immense joy that industrialists and businessmen of Punjab today are expressing their faith in AAP's governance and also want to walk shoulder-in-shoulder with the party. The Mann government is working against drugs, working for children's education. Ultimately, the vision is that everyone gets good employment. Along with every family, Punjab has developed economically. The way the business fraternity is expressing their faith in the Bhagwant Mann government under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal it shows all is going well in Punjab. It is an example that the environment for businesses and industrialists is very good."
What did Nitin Kohli say after joining AAP?
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, Nitin Kohli said, “I thank the AAP for giving me this opportunity, especially as an industrialist. I was inspired by the growing interest the party has shown in industrial development. When I saw respected figures like Ashok Mittal joining AAP and Sanjeev Arora contesting from Ludhiana, I felt this was a party that genuinely thinks about industries. That motivated me to give politics a try to serve the city and help the industry sector grow.”
Kohli also extended his thanks to AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Manish Sisodia, Aman Arora, and Sherry Kalsi, acknowledging their support and leadership.
Manish Sisodia on Jalandhar Central MLA Raman Arora
Manish Sisodia did not shy away from speaking about MLA Raman Arora. He said,"I also want to say that an MLA of our party broke faith with the people a few days back. People have believed in the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP and even made the party leaders MLAs and sent them to the Vidhan Sabha. But, it was unfortunate that our MLA did not go by the principles of Arvind Kejriwal and the Mann government. He did something due to which the government had to take action against him. I want to say it proudly that AAP is the only party that it leaves no one who is doing wrong, even within its own party. When the Vigilance came to know about Raman Arora, AAP directed to take action quickly."
