Due to the Covid-19 pandemic-induced lockdown, the mode of education has shifted to online so the learning process never stops. Despite relaxation from the daily institute going life, this medium has its own set of outcomes as tutors and students have become informal over-the-phone classes.

In yet another least expected fact, a professor of Bengaluru’s esteemed Christ University has allegedly addressed a student as ‘baby’ during the online exams.

The ordeal was however shared by the student herself on the micro-blogging site ‘Twitter’ with an attached screenshot claiming when she asked the invigilator regarding the time frame to submit answers in PDF format, he replied, “another three minutes baby.”

The incident that took place on June 21 has stirred another controversy.

A student belonging to the institute Bannerghatta Road Campus informed a news agency that this has not happened for the first time that invigilator behaved in an irrational manner. That chats that have been posted on Twitter sometimes are inappropriate and distracting.

“The behavior of the proctor also made us feel extremely uncomfortable. He asked us to bend the camera down to a low angle, saying he wanted to ensure that no malpractice takes place. But it gave us the feeling that we are watched in an inappropriate manner,” added the student.

Speaking against the university’s unacceptable action, another student said we had complained about the proctor to the authorities but, they termed his not-so-friendly actions as an example of his caring approach.

Reportedly, the students have been asked to take his actions in the “right spirit”.

It has been further alleged by a BBA student that the university fails to address the grievances of the students including internet issues being faced by many while attending classes or writing exams online.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka unit of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) has decided to approach the University Grants Commission with a detailed report on the incidents of alleged misconduct at Christ (Deemed to be University).

“This happened to a student who appeared in today's online examination conducted by @ChristBangalore. She asked if she could end as she was done and the proctor replied "three more minutes baby,” it tweeted.
