Crimes against women are increasing day by day in Punjab. Now, shocking news has come out from Moga where a 36-year-old woman was brutally murdered.
Sarabjit Kaur, a 36-year-old woman fetching fodder from a field in village Buggipura in Moga district was killed with an axe yesterday. She had been in an illicit relationship with the accused for the last 14 years. Police are currently searching for the culprit.
Police Station Chief Laxman Singh stated that Kamaljit Singh’s wife Sarabjit Kaur had been in an illicit relationship with Gurpreet Singh for the last 14 years. They had been facing trouble in their relationship for the past one month, the matter was taken to the Panchayat and it was decided that they will never meet again.
On the other hand, while the woman was fetching fodder from the field last evening, Gurpreet Singh followed her on his scooter and attacked Sarabjit twice with an axe, killing her.
A case under section 302 has been registered against Gurpreet Singh, police said. A team has been formed to search for Gurpreet Singh, he will be arrested soon.
