The nation is battlingagainst the second disastrous wave of coronavirus which has now claimed morelives than the first wave. The news of Covid-19 overwhelming cases, deaths, and the collapse of health infrastructure is all over the world and now another thinghas made to this horrific list.

A day after, Bihar’s Buxardistrict reported the terrific incident of corpses floating in the river Ganga, now Uttar Pradesh reports a similar case.

On Tuesday, May 11, moredead bodies of Covid suspected patients were found floating in the river undera bridge near the border between Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

It may be noted here thaton May 10, Bihar officials claimed that there were over 70 bodies that hadwashed up on the Ganga banks at Buxar. Following the incident, a blame game eruptedbetween the administration of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

However, the visuals thatwent viral today revealed another dark side of the health care system as theambulance drivers were witnessed throwing the corpses of Covid-19 patients overa bridge.

According to the BJP MP Janardhan Singh Sigriwal, thebodies of Covid victims were thrown by the ambulance drivers on the bridge—JaiprabhaSetu, located in Saran, Bihar which is close to the Ballia in UP.

Later, the BJP leader asked the district administrationto take cognizance of the situation and to make sure that no more bodies ofCovid victims to be dumped there.

On the flip side, localites claim that both states andtheir administrations are responsible for such insensitive behavior towardsCovid victims and their families. According to Arvind Singh, “Bodies are thrownover by ambulance drivers from both UP and Bihar.”

Apparently, the officials of both states dismissed thereports and said the bodies were thrown into the river by the people themselvesafter they did not find a place to cremate or bury the bodies. Moreover, theyfound the firewood for the cremation expensive.

In a press statement, the officials asserted, “There isenough firewood at the cremation grounds and six to eight bodies have been burnteach day on average.”

Also, the district administration has directed to bevigilant over such incidents in the future and have been asked to make sure thatlocalites are cremating the bodies rather than dumping them in the river.
