
About20 Covid patients died on Friday night at Jaipur Golden Hospital in Delhi dueto low supply of oxygen. The hospital has appealed to the authority in thenational capital to arrange oxygen at the earliest.
Accordingto the hospital, "A supply of 3.5 metric tonnes of oxygen was supposed toreach by 5 p.m. yesterday. But it reached around midnight. By then, 20 patientshad died."
MDof Dr D.K. Baluja tweeted on Saturday morning, "Jaipur Golden Hospitalstill waiting for oxygen. As many as 215 Covid patients are dependent on thehospital. Get supply ASAP. Please help, we are desperate."
Earlier,around 25 Covid-19 patients had died in the period of 24 hours in Sir Ganga RamHospital (SGRH). It had raised an alarm for immediate need of oxygen supply onThursday evening as over 140 critical patients admitted in the hospitals wereon ventilators and on oxygen support.
Alongwith Jaipur Golden Hospital, Moolchand Hospital, SGRH, Batra Hospital, onSaturday, sent SOS messages reporting shortage of oxygen and appealed to authorityto arrange it at the earliest.
Inthe morning, Batra Hospital's Medical Director Dr SCL Gupta said that thehospital is left with oxygen for one hour for 350 patients. Later, 500 litre ofoxygen was supplied to the hospital.
Besides,early morning there were reports that at least six patients, comprising fiveCovid-19, died in a private hospital in Amritsar in Punjab after they lostoxygen supply due to its shortage.
