The car fell into the Bhakra canal after it collided with a private bus in Punjab's Rupnagar on Monday. Five people including two women and a child died in the accident. This shocking incident happened on the Ahmedpur bridge near Ghanauli.

According to sources, a private bus collided with a Creta car while overtaking on a bridge near Rupnagar. The driver lost control due to the collision and the car broke the railing and fell into the Bhakra canal. The Rajasthan numbered Creta car was pulled out of the canal by a Hydra machine with the help of divers and locals.


Eyewitnesses said that after falling into the canal, the occupants of the car made noise while trying to rescue. Divers retrieved the bodies of two women, two men and a child from the car. Efforts are being made to identify them. People present on the spot told that the car was coming from Anandpur Sahib.
