Bengaluru: Apple CEO Tim Cook on Wednesday responded to an analyst question during the latest earnings call and said, “We have made some adjustments in India and we’ve seen preliminarily some better results there. Everything that we do, does advise everything we do in the future, so we try to learn learn the best we can and fold that into our thinking. And we’ll obviously do that with this as well.”

The analyst was asking about the impact of pricing actions in China and other emerging markets including India.

In April, Apple reduced the IPhone X price by 22% in India. Citing India as very important market in long term Cook added, “It a challenging market in the short-term. But we’re learning a lot. We have started manufacturing there, which is very important to be able to serve the market in a reasonable way. And we’re growing that capability there.”

On the presence of Android in Indian market, he said, “It doesn’t bother him that it primarily Android business at the moment because that just means there a lot of opportunity there.”

Cook also revealed that Apple is in talks with the Indian government to establish retail stores.
