Colombo: Post two days of the serial bomb blasts which tormented Sri Lanka, the first investigation reports came. According to the reports blasts which targeted churches and luxury hotels on Easter Sunday was carried out by ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) in retaliation for the mosque shootings in New Zealand happened on March 15, a senior minister informed Parliament on Tuesday.     

For the blast, ISIS used suicide bombers, all the bombers were from Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka state minister of defence, Ruwan Wijewardene, said, “The death toll in the gruesome bombings had risen to 321, including 38 foreigners.”

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe described the Easter Sunday attacks as "global terrorism reaching Sri Lanka"    

However, leader of opposition Mahinda Rajapaksa accused the government for their ignorance on national security. He said, “When I handed over the government it was free of terrorism. No such attack would have happened under my government.”
