
A full state of emergency was declaredat the Mumbai Airport on Thursday evening after an air ambulance reported gear malfunction.Notably, the air ambulance with a patient on board took off from Nagpur, and whileflight the plane lost its wheel.
The Beechcraft VT-JIL aircraft was heading towardsHyderabad from Nagpur however, ultimately it had to make an emergency bellylanding on foam carpeting in Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj InternationalAirport at 9:09 pm.
In the flight, there were two crew members, a patient, arelative and a doctor.
Taking cognizance of the situation, the airport’semergency response team including the fire and rescue responders, follow mevehicles, security medical staff among others were activated instantly toprovide immediate assistance to ensure the safe evacuation of the passengers.
The Civil Aviation Minister has also applaudedthe efforts of DGCA, Mumbai Airport, and others.
