Amritsar’s situation remains tense after Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh’s supporters attacked the Ajnala Police Station with swords and guns. Amritpal Singh announced a protest outside the Ajnala Police Station on Thursday over the arrest of his close aid Lovepreet Singh Toofan. A few days back Ajnala police officials arrested Toofan from his home in a kidnapping and assault case.
As informed by the SMO of Ajnala Civil Hospital, till now 6 policemen have been injured in the violent clash at Ajnala. While others were given first aid, SP has been referred to Amritsar as his condition was not well.
A video of Amritpal Singh addressing his supporters has also surfaced. The Chief can be seen asking them to carry out a peaceful protest and calmly handle the situation. In the video, Amritpal can be seen asking his supporters to not indulge in violent activities. Amritpal asked his followers not to attack police personnel and keep the protest peaceful. However, the Waris Punjab De Chief can also be heard saying that if the Police take any action, then they will also see how they will respond.
