Akhilesh Yadav Birthday: SP workers to organize blood donation, food camps and plantation drives

On July 1 Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav would celebrate his 48th birthday. His followers and party members poured wishes on him through social media.

On Thursday, the national president of the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav turned 48 years old. On the occasion of his birthday, Samajwadi Party workers have organized plantation drives, food and blood camps, and ‘hawan pujan’ at the temples. 

The SP workers are following directions by Akhilesh and his birthday would be celebrated by reaching out to the poor and needy people. 

Today, members of the Youth Brigade would distribute fruits, food packets, sweets and presents among the orphans and homeless children residing at the Leelavati Munshi Bal Grah.

As a part of the plantation drive, SP chief spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary planted a sampling at the Janeshwar Misra Park in Lucknow and he also attended a free food distribution camp organized by party workers at Trauma Centre Lucknow.

He also visited the ‘Samajwadi Kitchen’, organized by the Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha president Vikas Yadav, at Hanuman temple near Pucca Pul. 

A plantation drive at the Dikusha football ground was led by MLC Dr Madhu Gupta. 

‘Hawans’ were organized at various temples for the well-being of their party president. Some of the SP workers even distributed masks and sanitisers to mark the occasion. 

The workers have also organized a blood donation camp in the Shivpur area, which was inaugurated by Anand Mohan and the party members would donate more than 100 units of blood. Anand Mohan during the inauguration said, “We want to help those needing blood in such difficult times of the corona pandemic. This is the best way to celebrate the birthday of our party chief.”

Akhilesh Yadav was born to Malti Devi and Mulayam Singh on July 1, 1973, in Etawah district, Uttar Pradesh. His initial education was from a local school in the town, later was sent to Military School in Dholpur, Rajasthan. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from JSS Science Technology University in Civil Environmental Engineering. He also has a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University Of Sydney, Australia. 

His political career started in the year 2000 when he was elected as a member of the 13th Lok Sabha from Kannauj in a by-election. 

On 10 March 2012, he was appointed as the leader of the Samajwadi Party, and on 15 March 2012, he became the youngest Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, at the age of 38 years. At that time, Akhilesh won the elections by 224 seats.
