DeputyCommissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Thursday inspected Electronic VotingMachines (EVMs)  and Voter-VerifiedPaper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines stored at the warehouse in PunjabAgricultural University.

Duringthe checking, Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer VarinderKumar Sharma and other officers besides the representatives of the politicalparties were also present.

Speakingwith the representatives of the political parties during the inspection, theDeputy Commissioner assured them that the district administration isduty-bound to ensure a smooth and hassle-free polling process in Ludhianaduring the upcoming 2022 Assembly Elections.

He apprisedthe political parties that elaborate arrangements have been put in place inLudhiana by the administration for the purpose.

Sharma saidthat no stone is being left unturned for ensuring proper security of thewarehouse.

In thewarehouse, 3240 control units, 87 Ballot Units and 595 VVPAT machines have beenstored by the administration.

Prominentamongst others present on the occasion included Assistant Commissioner (UT) DrHarjinder Singh Bedi, Election Tehsildar Anju Bala and representatives ofpolitical parties including Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party and Bhartiya JantaParty.
