All shops closed on Sunday in Jalandhar, essential goods to be delivered at doorsteps

Amid the rising cases of Covid-19 in the district,Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori has directed to close allmarkets/shops and business establishments on April 25 to contain the spread ofthe infection.

In his latest order, DC Thori has said that all shoppingmalls, markets, shops, and restaurants/hotels will remain closed on Sunday. Shopsof essentials goods will also remain closed and the goods can be delivered atthe doorsteps only.

However, there are certain things that will be allowed tofunction during the day lockdown. This includes:

1.   Factoriesfunctioning 24/7 with workforce roster

2.   Medicalshops

3.   ATMs

4.   FuelStations/ Petrol Pumps

Pertinently, grocery stores,fruits and vegetable shops, diary, animal food shops, etc, will also remainclosed on Sunday.

Notably, the highways will not be closed and vehicles can be on ply.
