Chandigarh has witnessed a record-breaking rainfall over the last 24 hours. Heavy rains, recorded at 48 mm within just 2.5 hours late Sunday night, have also led to waterlogging in multiple sectors, with rainwater seeping into residential homes in low-lying areas. As per the Meteorological Department, this was the second heaviest June rainfall in Chandigarh’s history. The heaviest remains June 30, 1988, when the city recorded 196.5 mm of rain in a single day. While residents continue to deal with heavy rainfall in Chandigarh, a 12-foot python was rescued from the famous Sukhna Lake trail.
On Monday, visitors at Chandigarh’s popular Sukhna Lake trail witnessed a rare and shocking sight when a 12-foot-long python appeared near the walking path. According to eyewitnesses, the massive snake was spotted slithering across the trail, prompting immediate alerts to the lake authorities. The staff quickly informed the Forest Department, which rushed a rescue team to the site.
Before the team could arrive, the python climbed up a tall tree, adding to the challenge of its capture. Using a crane, the Forest Department officials managed to bring the snake down safely after a difficult operation. Now, the Sukhna Lake Python Video is going viral as well.
