While Punjab schools are currently on summer vacation, the State Council for Education Research and Training (SCERT) has issued a new order. As per Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, Punjab Schools will remain closed till June 30 under summer vacation holidays. As the countdown for the end of summer vacation has begun, SCERT has issued comprehensive directions to all District Education Officers (Secondary/Elementary) and school heads regarding the conduct of Bimonthly Test-1 for the academic session 2025-26.
According to the official notification, the test will be held in offline mode from July 10 to July 19, 2025. School heads have been authorized to prepare their own date sheets and ensure the smooth and systematic conduct of the examination.
Subject-Wise Guidelines:
Classes 6 to 8:
Bimonthly tests for Punjabi, English, and Mathematics will be based on topics taught under the Mission Samarth programme in July. Tests for other subjects will cover the syllabus taught in April and May.
Classes 9 to 12 (All Streams):
The tests will cover only the syllabus from April and May.
Test and Evaluation Structure:
The test will carry 20 marks per subject.
What are the SCERT guidelines?
- Question papers will be prepared by respective subject teachers.
- Tests are to be conducted during regular subject periods.
- No tests will be conducted during periods allocated for Mission Samarth (for Classes 6 to 8).
- Answer sheets must be checked and results compiled within 10 days of the test.
- Schools are required to maintain detailed records of results and answer sheets subject-wise, class-wise, and student-wise.
- SCERT has instructed all school heads to ensure strict compliance with the timeline and maintain proper registers for documentation and monitoring purposes.
