Despite the India Meteorological Department's prediction that the monsoon will arrive in Punjab 8 days early, the state is still witnessing a lack of rainfall. Although isolated rainfall has been witnessed in a few districts of Punjab, heavy rainfall still seems far away. As a result, summer in Punjab continues to intensify. Although the weather may be overcast in many districts, high humidity is making residents feel restless. As a result, many residents of different districts of Punjab have been reaching out to True Scoop asking whether the Punjab Government is considering to extend the summer vacation break in schools and colleges or not?

For the unversed, Punjab schools and colleges are currently undergoing summer vacation holidays. The holiday is till June 30. This decision was announced by Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains through a post on X, which is valid for all government, private, aided, and recognised schools in the state.

True Scoop on Tuesday reached out to Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains's office and asked whether the state government is planning to do it or not. Punjab Education Minister's office informed True Scoop that currently, the government is not planning to extend summer vacation holidays in Punjab.

Notably, if IMD's prediction turns out to be true, then the temperature in Punjab will come down as thunderstorms along with heavy rainfall have been predicted in most districts of Punjab.
