Amit Shah tells Mamata Banerjee to be prepared for resignation on May 2, TMC leader vows to avenge bullets with ballots

Mamata had demanded Shah's resignation and has also called Prime Minister Narendra Modi 'incompetent.'

Speaking at an event in Basirhat Dakshin, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday has told TMC leader Mamata Banerjee to be prepared for resignation on May 2. He has also urged the voters of West Bengal to bid adieu to the Chief Minister by giving 200 seats to the national ruling party. 

This came after the TMC leader had repeatedly asked Amit Shah to resign from his position. Reiterating the fact, Mamata had demanded Shah's resignation and has also called Prime Minister Narendra Modi 'incompetent.'

The HM has also alleged Mamata for the violent incident which took place outside the polling booth in Cooch Behar and said that she had incited the youngsters and women in Sitalkuchi to gherao CAPF. Sharpening his attack he said that it has happened because of Mamata that four people had died in the attack along with a BJP worker in the constituency. 

Mr. Shah has also said that when BJP will come into power, political and poll-related violence will eventually end in West Bengal. 

Reverting to it, Banerjee at a press conference held today said, "BJP know that they have lost in four phases of Assembly polls therefore they are using guns. We will take revenge for these bullets in form of ballots."

While meeting the victim families in Siliguri, Mamata has called the Cooch Behar incident 'nothing but genocide'.

"The security forces fired targeting the chest. If their motive was to disperse the mob they might have fired at the legs of masses despite chests. They have no experience in controlling a mob," Mamata lashed out at the Centre government during a press conference in Siliguri. Sh e has also said that her government would launch a CID probe into the incident. 

According to the police personnel, the local residents had rushed towards the polling booth in Sitalkuchi of Cooch Behar district and they had tried to snatch the weapons of security officials. However, with an intention to stop them they opened fire at them.

Notably, the Election Commission of India has banned any political to enter the district for the next  72 hours.
