Another video from the bordering district of Amritsar has gone viral showcasing a young man under the heavy influence of drugs struggling to stand on farmland near a road as people nearby watch the man.

The video has been posted from the official handle of journalist Gagandeep Singh with the caption, “Video from Baba Bakala Amritsar, where a guy under the influence of drugs is unable to stand properly on his feet. What’s going wrong in society?”

Last month Amritsar made the headlines for similar incidents that questioned the tall claims of police over the development that has emerged as a massive point of concern. Maqboolpura from the district has emerged as a major epicenter for the major contraband trade last.

One of the videos which came to light last month showed how a man blatantly speaks about the prevailing racket, in the video the man can be heard telling the name of the drug dealer as well.

With the video going viral, the Police swung into action and launched a raid in the region including a couple of times by the ADGP rank officers leading to arrests of several youths involved. Despite regular efforts of all the departments, intoxicants are being openly sold and consumed in Maqboolpura.

On being asked strictly, he reveals that the drugs were bought from Maqboolpura and not one person, 3 people including 2 females are involved in this trade.

4 videos in the last few weeks have surfaced from the region that has exposed the failure of police in cracking down the cases and has continuously challenged the system’s commitment and zero tolerance policy against the prevalent drug nexus in the state.

Persistent cases being reported from the bordering district of Amritsar even pose a major question about the possible availability of intoxicants from across the border, which has also been busted several times by the Border Security Force.
