Amritsar Police arrests two gangsters in an encounter, investigation underway; watch

While one gangster has five cases registered against, this would be first one for other arrested.

In the latest development, Amritsar Police succeeded in nabbing two gangsters who were trying to flee away from the city. While one gangster has five cases registered against, this would be first one for other arrested. Investigation has been initiated with the arrested.

Police Commissioner while talking about the incident informed that out of the two arrested, one has been identified as Arshjot Singh alias Ghuggi, a resident of village Mattewal and the other is his associate Avinash, a resident of Mustafabad. Reportedly, Vijay Nagar police officials got a tip off of 2 suspicious people roaming on 17 feet road in a Verna car number PB-5440C88. Post this, the police reached to the spot and arrested the two gangsters. On seeing the police, gangsters tried to flee away in Verna car but got stuck while driving in a narrow lane. After this, the gangsters tried to run away but were caught by the police as informed by ACP North Varinder Khosa.

He further revealed that police recovered 32 bore pistol and seven live cartridges from them. Along with this, case has been registered against both under the Arms Act. The cases against Arshjot Singh include attempt to murder registered in village Mattewal in 2018, case under the NDPS Act in Adampur in 2019, FIR against him in Mattewal under attempt to murder and Arms Act. Apart from this, a case of Arms Act was registered against the accused in Police Station C Division and another case was registered against the accused under the Prisoners Act in Police Station Islamabad.
