Amritsar AQI, Amritsar AQI Today, Punjab Smog, Punjab Rain Prediction, IMD Punjab Rain prediction: For the past few days, a thick blanket of smog has been covering multiple cities of Punjab. Punjab has been witnessing worsening AQI levels, which are disrupting many flight services. Punjab's multiple cities' poor Air Quality has been turning the 'land of five rivers' into a gas chamber. While many factors have contributed to Punjab Air Pollution, stubble burning remains one of the major factors. With the onset of winter, visibility has also started to dip in the state. Hence, the question arises when the people of Punjab can expect improvement in the Air Quality Index or when the smog in Punjab will get clear. Below is what you need to know-
When will smog get clear and AQI of Punjab will improve?
For the unversed, rain can reduce smog by washing away pollutants from the air. Hence, an optimum rainfall in the state is the need of the hour. Talking about Punjab Rain Prediction, reports suggest that Western Disturbance (WD) has been active in the West Himalayas since last night (Wednesday). Its effect will be seen in the mountains. There are chances of snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. After which a drop in temperature can be seen in Punjab and Chandigarh. The effect of this Western Disturbance can also be seen in the border areas of Punjab on 15 November. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, and Tarn Taran on this day. Hence, it is expected that once rainfall takes place in Punjab, the situation may improve.
However, mere rainfall is not the only factor that can reduce air pollution in Punjab. Stubble burning in Punjab and other states also needs to be stopped. As per reports, stubble burning generally gets completed till last week of November. Hence, it is expected that air pollution in Punjab will be improved in the coming time.
