Notorious gangster Kaushal Choudhary has been making the headlines after some goons associated with his gang shot up a travel agent’s car in Jalandhar. Kaushal is a gangster from Gurugram and was, prior to his arrest, the most wanted gangter in Delhi NCR with a price of 5 lakhs on his head. He is infamous for being incriminated for the killing of Congress leader Vikas Choudhary in 2019. He was arrested and put in Gurdaspur Jail. He is also associated with the Davinder Bambiha group. Early and personal life:
Kaushal was born on April 17 1982 at the Naharpur Rupa Village in Gurugram. His father, Nand Kishore was a property dealer and he had two brothers, one of whom was killed during a family land dispute. Prior to his criminal life, he used to sell and fix submersible water pumps in his village. His brother’s death was the reason that Kaushal entered the life of crime. Kaushal is currently married to and has a daughter with Roshini Choudhary.
First steps into the life of crime:
Kaushal’s brother was killed by gangster Sudesh, alias Chhelu after land dispute between Sudesh and his family. This resulted in long tussle between the two in which a total nine members from both their groups were murdered. The tussle ended with Sudesh’s murder on December 12, 2006 at the hands of Kaushal. He was arrested by the Gurugram Police. He reportedly began expanding on his criminal operations while he was serving his sentence, befriending several reknowned criminals in prison.
He also conspired the murder of Sudesh’s wife while in prison, whom he shot dead in 2009. He fled police custody and started expanding his gang, while committing dreadful crimes such as robberies, extortion and kidnapping.
He emerged as one of the most dreaded gangsters in gurugram after the arrest of Binder Gujjar and Sandeep Gadoli’s death in 2016.
Some major cases registered against him:
• February 11, 2018: Involved in the murder of Sanjay Singh, the husband of the former Sarpanch of Tatarpur village
• October 16, 2018: Choudhary with the help of a paramedic planned a firing inside Pushpanjali hospital’s medical store. His aim was to extort money from the owner of the hospital.
• October 16, 2018: On the same day, two masked men from his gang fired several rounds into the air at Om Sweets in sector 46 of Gurugram. They wanted to rob the cash counter.
• January, 2019: Killed Jaidev, a.k.a JD, a close aide of Binder Gujjar, in a gang war.
• June 28, 2019: Shot and killed Vikas Choudhary outside a gym in Faridabad owing to a Financial Dispute.
• July 27, 2019: Extorted the owner of Bikaner Sweets, Sohna Road, Gurugram for 5 lakhs.
Arrest:
Kaushal was arrested for fatally shooting Haryana Congress leader Vikas Choudhary in 2019. He is currently serving his prison sentence for the same in the Gurdaspur Jail in Punjab. He shot Vikas outside a gym in Faridabad allegedly over a Financial Dispute. Most recently he tried ending his own life with a barber’s trimmer while in jail. This incident occurred in October 2023. He was on a 2 day remand for police interrogation in connection with the 2020 murder case of gangster Vikas Dureja, a close aide of gangster Binder Gujjar.
On Friday, a travel agent’s car was riddled with bullets and a ransom was demanded by unidentified individuals. They left a note in the car which confirmed that it was Kaushal who had ordered the hit.
