On Tuesday, fourother ministers, including Congress state general secretary Pargat Singh, 28MLAs met at the residence of senior minister of state Tripat Rajinder Bajwa anddemanded the removal of the captain from the Chief Minister’s chair.
Afterthe meeting, the four ministers and Pargat Singh went to meet PPCC PresidentNavjot Singh Sidhu at congress Bhawan. As per sources, Pargat Singh, TripatRajinder Bajwa, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Sukh Sarkaria and Charanjit SinghChanni is going to held a talk with Harish Rawat in Dehradun tomorrow.
Confirmingthis, Rawat said that some Punjab leaders wanted to meet him and the party highcommand, so he had invited them to Dehradun. He will leave for Delhi afterholding discussions with Harish Rawat in Dehradun. He will meet the CongressHigh Command. Time has also been sought from Sonia Gandhi for this. Among theministers who rebelled against the captain were Tripat Rajinder Bajwa,Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Sukh Sarkaria and Charanjit Singh Channi.
Accordingto sources, the cause of this revolt is part of the long conspiracy whichstarted in rival camp in the past and in their links in the high command. Things may go haywire if high command paysheed to the plea of revolted MLAs and Ministers.
As HarishRawat has been instrumental in making Navjot Singh Sidhu the head of PunjabCongress. It remains to be seen what report Harish Rawat will give to theCongress High Command after meeting these leaders involved in the anti-Captaincamp. It is also anticipated that the high command may send observer in Punjabto hear the plea of revolted MLAs and ministers.
Thefuture of Captain Amarinder Singh’s chair in Punjab will depend to some extenton this report of Harish Rawat and anticipated observer. If the report goesagainst the captain it may create plethora of problems for the Captain in theforthcoming election.
