Apple announced its new powerful and expensive Mac Pro on late Monday night. The desktop starting price is $6000 so you may not buy it.

However, the announcement might give a nightmare to the Facebook Inc as a “sign in with Apple” option and suggestion bar to share photos through imessage or email has been introduced. You tap one of these “sign up with Facebook” or “sign in with Google” when an app you have downloaded prompts you to login.

It convenient. But do you remember Cambridge Analytica?  Ofcource the Analytica scandal prompted Facebook to clean up much of their act because those Facebook logins open up a highway of data sharing: Facebook get insight into your usage pattern on third party app, and app gets data on you (name, profile photo and lot more).

So, Apple is saying, “Why take the risk? Instead, Login with your Apple ID” Apple is pitching its login as more secure option. Facebook makes money from ads but Apple makes money by selling its products.
