Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami has finally broken his silence on the allegations of Republic TV generating fake TRPs. Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh on Thursday organized a press conference and accused that there a fake TRP scam is going on and the Republic TV is a part of it.
The Mumbai Police Commissioner also informed that the owners of Marathi channels Fakt Marathi and Box Cinema have been arrested. Arrests were made under sections 409 and 420 of IPC. And the Mumbai Police will soon be summoning Republic TV promoters and directors including Arnab Goswami in the TRP scam.
Now, Arnab Goswami has lashed out at Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh. Reacting to it, Arnab Goswami said, "Param Bir Singh thinks he can stop our coverage by filing false cases against me and the Republic media network. I am going to file a criminal defamation case against the desperate Police Commissioner of Mumbai Param Bir Singh. Param Bir Singh thinks he can stop the coverage in Sushant Singh Rajput's case. I want the public to ask Param Bir Singh what he is so scared about."
"Param Bir Singh is scared about some truths is coming out in Sushant Singh Rajput's case. He first targetted Republic for the Palghar investigation. Then he targetted us for the Sushant Singh Rajput's investigation. I am putting out an appeal and request that we must fight the Maharashtra government and the Mumbai Police which thinks they will silence us," added Goswami.
On the BARC report, Goswami said, "BARC has not mentioned Republic TV in a single complaint. Param Bir Singh is in desperation to go to the media has made up facts."
On Param Bir Singh's threats of closing the Republic Channel and scanning the back accounts of Arnab Goswami, the editor-in-chief said, "Unlike Param Bir Singh I have led a transparent life. You have no right to close down the Republic media network. We will continue our pursuit of truth in Sushant Singh Rajput's case. Remember Dr. Sudhir Gupta's leaks were supposed to be a final closure in Sushant Singh Rajput's case. However, when we aired the audiotapes of Dr.Sudhir Gupta the truth came out and the CBI distanced itself from the AIIMS panel head."

Arnab also accused other news channels of conspiring against the Republic TV. He said, "Those channels who are getting cheap thrills today that the Commissioner puts out lies we will file a criminal defamation suit. Channels who will participate in the lie are part of a lie and we will sue them as well. My viewership is mine, my support base is mine, my channel is mine, I built Republic network from scratch it will not die, it will thrive and grow. Go ahead Param Bir Singh summons me, I shall walk from my home to the Police Station on the day of my summon. If you think you can break nationalist journalists like me you are bound to fail."
"You want to use old school mafia to pressurize people because you are sitting Mumbai Police Commissioner it will not work. You tell me who told you to do it Sharad Pawar or Sonia Miano (Gandhi)? Param Bir Singh you are going to be exposed and you are the greatest coward unfortunately allowed to wear the uniform. You don't deserve to wear the uniform."
