Assam CM Himanta Sarma and Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Saturday got involved a heated war of words on Twitter. Delhi Deputy CM and AAP leader Manish Sisodia on Saturday addressed a press conference made a 'massive expose' stating that Himanta Sarma, who was the Health Minister of Assam in 2020, awarded government contracts to procure PPE kits to companies under the ownership of his wife, and son's business partners. Manish Sisodia's 'massive expose' comes in the backdrop after the ED arrested the Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain in a money laundering case, on May 30.
Following the 'massive expose', Assam CM Himanta Sarma took to his Twitter handle and lashed out at the AAP leader Manish Sisodia. In his series of tweets, Himanta Sarma also stated that he will sue Manish Sisodia for criminal defamation for the blatant lies he has put forward in the public.
In a series of tweets, Sarma wrote, "Dear Manish Sishodia, let me refresh your memory from 2 years. You did not even reply to my tweet when my people from Assam needed your help during the Covid pandemic. Many phone calls even went unanswered in spite of the fact that we knew each other very well."
"At a time when the entire country was facing the worst pandemic in over 100 years, Assam hardly had any PPE Kits. My wife took the courage of coming forward and donating around 1500 free of cost to the govt to save lives. She didn’t take a single penny."
While you Mr Manish Sisodia at that point of time showed a completely different side. You refused my multiple calls to help Assamese people stuck in Delhi. I can never forget one instance when I had to wait 7 days just to get a Assamese covid victim’s body from Delhi’s mortuary."
"Stop sermonising and I will see you soon in Guwahati as you will face criminal defamation," wrote Himanta Sarma.

Notably, Manish Sisodia's 'massive expose' comes days after Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal informed that the central agencies might arrest the Delhi Deputy CM soon after Satyendar Jain over fake charges. , AAP, has been angry at the BJP-led Centre over the arrest of Delhi Health Minister, Satyendar Jain, as a part of a money laundering case, on May 30. In the custody of the Enforcement Directorate until June 9, Jain has been accused of involvement in Hawala transactions, totalling Rs. 16.39 crore from 56 paper companies of three hawala entry operators located in Kolkata.
Furthermore, he has been accused of investing in over 200 bighas of agricultural land- primarily in Karala, Auchandi, Nizampur, Budham, and north & north-west areas of Delhi, with the hawala money.
