Banks in India, including Punjab, to remain closed on July 12, and July 13; Know why

India has already entered the second week of July 2025. Ahead of the start of July 2025, the RBI calendar had mentioned that there will be at least 13 days of holiday in this month. While the first week has already passed, banks in India are all set to be closed for two days this week. Hence, if you have some work planned that is possible only by visiting the branch office of your bank, then you need to complete it before Bank Holidays. Are banks in India, including Punjab, closed this week?

The answer is yes. Banks in India, including Punjab, will remain closed for two days this week. Banks will remain closed on July 12 and July 13. While July 12 is the second Saturday, July 13 is Sunday. As per the RBI's calendar, banks in India will have to remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays. Sundays are official weekoffs in every bank in India.
