It is to be noted that the holidays and inactivity of the bank could be different in different states, according to the values, ethics, and morals followed in the particular state or region. However, it is to be noted that the banks will remain closed on second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays across the country

The complete date-wise and state-wise list of holidays across India in the month of May is as follows - 

May 1, Thursday 

May 1 will be marked as May Day. In certain states, it is also celebrated as Maharashtra Day and Gujarat Day. 

According to the official list, the Banks will remain closed in the following states - Assam, Manipur, Goa, Kerala, Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Telangana and West Bengal. 

May 4, Sunday

The banks will remain closed due to weekly off. 

May 8, Wednesday 

This day will be celebrated as Guru Rabindra Jayanti. Expectedly, the banks will remain closed in Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Tripura and West Bengal. 

May 10, Saturday

The banks will remain closed due to weekly off. 

May 11, Sunday

The banks will remain closed due to weekly off. 

May 12, Monday

Buddha Purnima

On the occasion of Buddha Purnima, the banks will remain closed in the majority of the Indian states, including Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu. 

May 16, Friday

On this day, Sikkim State Day is celebrated in Sikkim, and the banks remain closed in particular states only. 

May 18, Sunday

The banks will remain closed due to weekly off. 

May 24, Saturday 

The banks will remain closed due to weekly off. 

May 25, Sunday 

The banks will remain closed due to weekly off. 

May 26, Monday

The day is commemorated as Kazi Nazrul Islam Jayanti. The banks will remain closed in the state of Tripura. 

May 29, Thursday

The day is celebrated as Maharana Pratap Jayanti. On May 29, the banks will remain closed in Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Haryana. 

May 30, Friday

The day is celebrated as Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Arjun Dev Ji. The banks will remain closed in some states, including Punjab.
