Former sarpanch from Batala was shot dead on Sunday. During this incident, 2 more people were injured who were earlier admitted to a local hospital. Later, the injured were referred to Amritsar’s hospital. Police on receiving the information about same registered FIR against 7 accused.
Reportedly, the son of deceased revealed that it was on Sunday when his father identified as Swaran Singh was sitting outside his home. During this, around 7 bike-borne miscreants came near him and openly fired at him. 65-year-old Swaran Singh died on the spot due to bullet injuries.
SSP Batala, released a video of himself giving information about the case and its development. He stated that FIR has been registered against 7 attackers. Out of these 7, 3 have been arrested while the search operation for the other 4 is underway. Till now the reason for attack is still unknown. Assailants involved in the incident were earlier acquitted in two murder cases. DSP Gurbinder Singh said that the statements of the family members of deceased have been recorded. The statements of the other two people injured in the incident will also be recorded. He added that based on the statements of all of them further investigation will take place.

FIR has been registered against 7 culprits. The continuous raids are on to apprehend the remaining culprits.
