In another bizarre incident amidst the distressful times, a 30-year-old Madhya Pradesh man who had mild fever died on Monday after he drank kerosene to cure Covid-19.

The deceased has been identified as Mahendra who thought that he had contracted the contagious virus. Believing that kerosene cures the disease, he drank it.

However, when his test results were out is revealed that he was Covid negative.

As per the police, deceased Mahendra was a tailor by profession and he lived with his family in Bhopal’s Shiv Nagar Hinotia locality. The preliminary investigation further revealed that Mahendra suspected that he is Covid positive and an acquaintance informed him that drinking kerosene would help him kill the virus. Believing his words, he consumed kerosene at around 9 pm on last week’s Wednesday.

However, after Mahendra’s health worsened his family took him to the nearby hospital where the hospital administration refused to admit him due to the shortage of beds. Later the family rushed him to the Hamidia hospital.

Going by the media reports, “Around two days ago, when his family members were informed that a bed was available at a private hospital in Ahsoka Garden, they shifted him there. Doctors declared him dead on Saturday.”
