In anotherbizarre incident amidst the distressful times, a 30-year-old Madhya Pradesh manwho had mild fever died on Monday after he drank kerosene to cure Covid-19.
Thedeceased has been identified as Mahendra who thought that he had contracted thecontagious virus. Believing that kerosene cures the disease, he drank it.
However,when his test results were out is revealed that he was Covid negative.
As per thepolice, deceased Mahendra was a tailor by profession and he lived with hisfamily in Bhopal’s Shiv Nagar Hinotia locality. The preliminary investigationfurther revealed that Mahendra suspected that he is Covid positive and an acquaintanceinformed him that drinking kerosene would help him kill the virus. Believinghis words, he consumed kerosene at around 9 pm on last week’s Wednesday.
However,after Mahendra’s health worsened his family took him to the nearby hospitalwhere the hospital administration refused to admit him due to the shortage ofbeds. Later the family rushed him to the Hamidia hospital.
Going bythe media reports, “Around two days ago, when his family members were informed that abed was available at a private hospital in Ahsoka Garden, they shifted himthere. Doctors declared him dead on Saturday.”
