Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said lies and rumours are being spread by the opponents of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on CAA, agriculture laws and labour laws to create political instability in the country. Addressing the BJP workers on the occasion of the party's 41st foundation day, Modi said: "Wrong narratives are created against CAA, farm laws and labour law... it's a pre-planned conspiracy to create political instability in the country."

"These people spread rumours, lies and create an atmosphere of imaginary fear like 'Constitution will be changed, the reservation will end, the land will be taken away. All these rumours are lies," Modi said, hitting out at the party's opponents.

The Prime Minister appealed to the party workers to create awareness about false narratives.

"Some people or organisations spread these lies. We have to stay alert, and with the help of correct information, we have to make the countrymen aware of false narratives," Modi said.

Speaking to the party workers about the people behind the false narratives, Modi said: "What they are doing will hurt the country in the long run. Therefore, the BJP workers have to stay alert and warn people about the truth."

"BJP means defeating the dynasty-based politics. It means an opportunity to able leadership. It means transparency and good governance. It means 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas, Sabka Vishwas'," he said.

"Parties that began with the help of local aspirations became a family-based party later. Parties that we’re wearing a mask of secularism are finally being unmasked," he said.

He asked party members to be alert about the lies and go among the masses to spread awareness.

Hitting out on those who called the BJP an "election-winning machine" over its poll triumphs, and accused them of double standards, PM Modi said rival parties and their leaders are praised when they win. Opposition do not understand Indian people and their democracy, and nor do they appreciate citizens' hopes, expectations and dreams, he said.

“If BJP wins polls, it’s called poll winning machine, but if others win, there’s appreciation. People who say this don’t understand India’s Constitution. The BJP is a continuous movement to win people's hearts as it serves people for five years honestly, be in the government or outside,” he said.

Expressing gratitude towards BJP party workers who have worked hard, Modi thanked them for their honesty and said this goodwill has allowed the party to reach a position where it is today.

BJP celebrates its 41st Foundation Day, which was founded as Bharatiya Jana Sangh by Syama Prasad Mookherjee in 1951 and later was merged with several parties in 1977 to form the Janata Party. To mark the foundation day, various programmes will be organised at the booth level and glorious history, evolution, ideology, and commitments of the party will be discussed through webinars at the state and district levels.
