The Supreme Court on Wednesday reprimanded Mumbai Police for forcefully quarantining Bihar IPS Officer Vinay Tiwari. Justice Hrishikesh Roy questioned the quarantining of the IPS officer from Patna, Bihar by officials in Mumbai and said that it did not send a good message as all eyes were on the case. Justice Roy asked the officials to ensure everything was done in a professional manner.
Still, The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) refused to free Bihar IPS officer Vinay Tiwari from quarantine, despite a letter from the Patna Inspector General requesting them to free him. Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey took to Twitter on Wednesday to inform about the development.
As per reports, in an interaction with a media organization, Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey slammed the BMC's refusal. He said after the Supreme Court's proceeding the BMC's refusal shows that they are thinking that they are above the constitution. They are following their own constitution. Pandey also said that he feels like some joke is going on as Mumbai Police is not ready to properly investigate in Sushant's case, not letting Bihar police investigate, neither they are sharing investigation reports and now they are not even following Supreme Court's order.
Vinay Tiwari was only sent to act as a bridge between Mumbai Police and Bihar Police. As per Pandey, Bihar Chief Minister Kumar will be soon taking some action after he returns from the flood-affected area.
