Q-Which vaccine will be administered?

 
A-The government of India has specified that the booster dose will be the same as the one that was given at the time of the first and second doses.

 
Q-Is registration required?

 
A-The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has sent out a notification stating that for booster vaccine or the precaution dose requires no prior notification. Eligible people can book appointments on the CoWin. The app now has a new section for people seeking a booster dose. The other option is to walk into the vaccination centre.

 
Q-How long before I can get jabbed?

 
A-If your second dose was more than 9 months ago, you are eligible for the third dose.


 
Q-Do I have to show any certificate at the centre?

 
A-If you are in the age group of 60 and plus and are vulnerable to diseases, you can get jabbed without any registration. At the same time the ministry has advised to seek advice of your doctor before getting the dose. Certificate here means a prescription or a doctor’s note for the vaccination, which shall not be required.

 
Q-Will I receive a third dose certificate?

 
A-Yes, you will as usual receive a certificate containing the date of the vaccine and other information. 

 
Q-Are the families of health care workers also eligible?

 
A-No the families of health care workers are not eligible for the vaccine. Only the frontline workers or those who are vulnerable to other diseases shall receive the vaccine.
