'Change is the law of nature', the quote seems to be fitting in the American media CNN's ongoing development, especially after the axing of senior journalist Brian Stelter. The axing of Brian Stelter of 'Reliable Sources' came as a shock for many as from the past few days, there are multiple journalists from multiple media organizations that have been either leaving or are getting axed. Amidst CNN Brain Shelter axing, it was sensed that Key WarnerBros. Discovery shareholder John Malone might a role to play in it. However, billionaire Malone has finally broken his silence as refuted that he was involved in CNN’s decision to ax Brian Stelter this week and cancel his 'Reliable Sources' program.

John Malone is regarded as a close confidant of CEO David Zaslav stated that he has nothing to do with Stelter's exit from CNN. Notably, in an interview with the New York Times, Malone had advocated that CNN should be more centrist rather than left-leaning which is what the CNN boss had said few days ago after the axing of Reliable Source journalist. "The ‘news’ portion of CNN to be more centrist,” though Malone added that he was 'not in control or directly involved' at the network.

After axing Stelter, CNN boss Chris Licht had said that 'more changes' are coming. In an interview with a US media organisation, Licht said, "This is a time of change, and I know that it’s unsettling. There will be more changes and you might not understand it or like it all."

Licht turned to Stelter, who anchored the media analysis program since 2013 and whose last show will air on Sunday, and said, "I really appreciate all that Brian has done to build the media beat for CNN. He’s a great human being and a good person. I wish him all the best on his new venture." Furthermore, Licht, who joined CNN in May, replacing CNN’s disgraced boss Jeff Zucker, asked staffers to be patient.

Interestingly, the axing and leaving of journalists have been on a surge. For instance, LaFlamme’s departure from the anchor chair of Canada’s most-watched television newscast i.e. CTV National shocked many around the world. LaFlamme’s departure and her replacement were announced on the same day, fuming viewers who felt LaFlamme should have had a proper sign-off and career retrospective after 35 years with the company.
