BSF personnel thwart cross border smuggling attempt near Attari, seize drugs worth Rs 21 crore

The BSF patrolling party fired in response which was later followed by search operation in the region

A fresh attempt of sending drones to India by Smugglers from across the borders has been thwarted by the Border Security Force. Seeing the drone movement on the border, the soldiers fired in response. After this, a search was conducted in the area. During the search, BSF recovered three closed and an open packet of heroin.

According to the information received, drone movement was seen in Dhanoa near the Attari border at night. After hearing the sound of the drone at midnight, the patrolling BSF Battalion 144 personnel responded with fire toward it.

During this, the jawans constantly kept an eye on the movement of the drone. Shortly after the firing, the drone returned to Pakistan. After this a search operation was carried out in the area.

Four packets of heroin were recovered from BSF during the search in Dhanoa. Out of which three packets were closed and one was found open. The total weight of the four packets was found to be 3.250 kg. Whose value in the international market is estimated at Rs 21 crores.

It is for the third time the movement of drones has been seen from the Pakistani side. Five days ago, the movement of drones was seen in the Khemkaran sector of Tarn Taran.

A day before that, on Monday, a drone dropped 2.570 kg of heroin from Pulmoran, a village adjacent to Amritsar's Attari border. The smugglers in Pakistan had also delivered pistols and bullets through this consignment.
