The troops of Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday seizedabout 500gms of heroin during a search operation on the bank of River Ravi in GurdaspurSector. The smugglers reportedly to dodge the soldiers filled the drug in a cold drink bottle found tied with a bamboo stick in a field. The seizure was made by the 73 BattalionBSF force.
In another such incident, Border Security Force troops seizedfour packets weighing approx 2,430 kgs of heroin from Abohar. This seizure wasmade by the 124 Battalion BSF force
Meanwhile, the vigilant troops of Border Security Forceby seizing the above found heroin has once again foiled the attempt ofanti-international elements to push consignment of contraband items into India.
During the year 2021, the BSF has seized around 158.638kgs of heroin from different Punjab Borders, while the number of Indian bordercrosser and Pakistan National apprehended are three and eleven, respectively.
Besides, the Pak intruder killed so far during suchoperations are two and different types of weapons and magazine seized were sixand eight, respectively.
Also, ammunition of various calibres seized was 146,while two Pakistan Mobile phones were recovered.
