BSF seizes 500gms heroin sealed in cold drink bottle from Gurdaspur

The troops of Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday seized about 500gms of heroin during a search operation on the bank of River Ravi in Gurdaspur Sector. The smugglers reportedly to dodge the soldiers filled the drug in a cold drink bottle found tied with a bamboo stick in a field. The seizure was made by the 73 Battalion BSF force.

In another such incident, Border Security Force troops seized four packets weighing approx 2,430 kgs of heroin from Abohar. This seizure was made by the 124 Battalion BSF force


Meanwhile, the vigilant troops of Border Security Force by seizing the above found heroin has once again foiled the attempt of anti-international elements to push consignment of contraband items into India.

During the year 2021, the BSF has seized around 158.638 kgs of heroin from different Punjab Borders, while the number of Indian border crosser and Pakistan National apprehended are three and eleven, respectively.

Besides, the Pak intruder killed so far during such operations are two and different types of weapons and magazine seized were six and eight, respectively.

Also, ammunition of various calibres seized was 146, while two Pakistan Mobile phones were recovered.
