In the major development in Punjab politics, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has alerted Sonia Gandhi that he "can't continue in the party with this kind of humiliation."
According to sources, Amarinder Singh told the party's president, “This kind of humiliation is enough, this is happening for the third time. I can't continue to stay inthe party with this kind of humiliation."
Capt’s statement came hours after AICC general secretary in charge of Punjab affairs Harish Rawat announced the CLP meeting to discuss party high commands 18-point formula. However,According to sources, in the name of the 18-point formula, the anti-capt camp can move a no-confidence motion against CM pushing the party high command to take a big decision.
Today’s CLP meet will decide the fate of Chief Minister Amarinder.
Congress has 80 MLAs in the 117-strong state assembly and if the majority votes against Capt, his CM’s chair will surely be at risk. It is possible that the matter goes in thehands of party president Sonia Gandhi and she announces the new CM from Delhi.
According to sources, Navjot Sidhu’s camp can present three names- Sukhjinder Randhawa, Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa and Pargat Singh as new CM candidates.
