Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday launched an attack against his arch-rival Punjab PCC president Navjot Singh Sidhu and his allies. Capt criticised Sidhu for behaving as “Super CM” and added that “it would be a big thing if Congress manages to touch double digits” in upcoming state elections.
'If @sherryontopp behaves as super CM, @INCPunjab won't function. Under this drama master’s leadership, it would be a big thing if @INCIndia manages to touch double digits in Punjab polls,” Capt Amarinder was quoted saying by his media advisor Raveen Thukral.

After facing multiple revolts by Sidhu’s camp for not taking action on Badals, sand and mining mafias and other issues, Capt Amarinder tendered his resignation on September 18 after which Charanjit Singh Channi was appointed as the Chief Minister of Punjab. Now, in a thread of tweets, Capt slammed Sidhu and his allies, and challenged him of taking action in the said cases.
"I was attacked for not taking action against ministers allegedly involved in the mining mafia. Those very ministers are now with new @INCPunjab & @PunjabGovtIndia leadership”, said Capt Amarinder. Navjot Sidhu, new CM Charanjit Channi and deputy CM Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa were tagged in the tweet.

Challenging the new Punjab administration of putting the Badals behind the bars, Capt said, “They complained against me for not taking arbitrary action against #Badals @bsmajithia and going by rule of law. Now they're are in power, let them throw the @Akali_Dal_ leaders behind bars if they can.”

Meanwhile, he also remarked that he would fight Navjot Sidhu's elevation to Punjab Chief Ministership tooth and nail, and was ready to make any sacrifice to save the country from such a "dangerous man".
Even as he reiterated his intention to counter any move to make Sidhu the state's Chief Minister face, Amarinder Singh said he will pit a strong candidate against him in the 2022 Assembly polls to ensure his defeat.
Capt also disclosed that he had offered his resignation to party president Sonia Gandhi three weeks earlier but she had asked him to continue. "If she had just called me and asked me to step down, I would have," he said, adding that "as a soldier, I know how to do my task and leave once I am called back".
Calling Gandhi siblings, Rahul and Priyanka “inexperienced”, Capt claimed, "their advisors were misguiding them".
