Amid political crisis in Punjab, former CM Captain Amarinder Singh meets BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in his Delhi residence.

It is his Amarinder’s first visit to the national capital after he resigned as Punjab Chief Minister on September 18.

A source close to Amarinder Singh told that Captain is keeping all options open and is at the moment, not ruling out the idea of joining hands with BJP. "Wait for few hours and everything will be clear," the source further said.

Speculations are rife that Amarinder Singh is likely to join the BJP.

Although, Mr Singh's team has called it a "courtesy visit", leaving questions unanswered about his future plans.

"He is on a personal visit, during which he'll meet some friends and vacate Kapurthala House (the Punjab Chief Minister's residence in the national capital) ... No need for unnecessary speculation," said Captain’s media advisor Raveen Thukral.

Amarinder resigned as the Chief Minister of Punjab, saying that he is stepping down as he felt humiliated. Justifying his decision on his resignation in less than six months of the state going to polls, Amarinder Singh said, in the past two months the high command summoned the legislators thrice.

Notably, Capt Amarinder is also facing criticism from senior party leaders, after he publically lashed out at Navjot Sidhu and his allies, and called Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi “inexperience.”

Congress spokesperson, Supriya Shrinate had said “old people often get enraged,” adding that “there is no space for anger in politics” and if Capt Amarinder wants to leave the party he can.
