Captain likely to be the next Vice President; Amarinder’s party can merge with BJP this month

Captain Amarinder Singh could be the NDA's candidate for the post of Vice President, his candidacy will be declared after the party merges with BJP.

Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh could be the NDA's candidate for the post of Vice President. This discussion intensified after the Captain's preparations to merge his party Punjab Lok Congress with the BJP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah get along well with Captain. It's been reported that his candidacy will be declared after the party merges.

Amarinder Singh, recently traveled abroad for spinal surgery. He might come back to India next week. The procedure in this regard will begin once he returns. Following this merger, BJP may entrust Captain Amarinder Singh with a big responsibility.

The tenure of the current Vice President of the country, Venkaiah Naidu is ending on August 11. The Vice-Presidential elections will take place on August 6th. For this, after the issuance of notification on July 5, nominations will be filled till July 19.

To get closer to the Sikh community, the BJP is placing all possible bets. The Sikh community is meeting with Prime Minister Modi. At the same time, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's Prakash Utsav was held in the Red Fort.

Captain is a leading figure in Punjab's politics. From cities to villages, everyone knows him as a well-known leader. Therefore, BJP plans to take 13 seats in Punjab in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with the aid of Captain. Because of the farmers' protests against the agricultural reform regulations, the Sikhs are furious with the BJP.

On the question of making Captain the vice-presidential candidate, Punjab BJP President Ashwani Sharma said that the national leadership will make this decision. However, he did not deny it either.
