Cash and jewellery worth Rs 35 lakh looted at gunpoint from a goldsmith who was returning to Amritsar from Kapurthala in a car along with his family. After the incident, Subhanpur police station has registered a case on the complaint of the victim and started investigation. On the other hand, as soon as the information about the incident was received, SPD Harvinder Singh, DSP Bhulath also reached the spot.

The police team is engaged in scanning the footage of the CCTV cameras installed around the incident, so that the truth of the incident can be known, because the police are doubting the story of the robbery.

In the statement given by the police, the victim Santokh Singh, resident of Gali Avewali Gate, Bhagatwala, Amritsar at present residing Jalalpur, Hoshiarpur, told that he along with his wife Balwinder Kaur and children were traveling from Jalalpur via Nadala Dhilwan Road Near Radha Swami satsang Ghar in car noPB07AP 8182.

His wife was holding a purse in her hand, which contained Rs 35 lakh in cash. The driver of the car going ahead applied the brakes immediately. Due to which he also had to stop the car. As soon as he stopped the car, two young men got down from the front car with their faces tied. One of them had a pistol in his hand. Both these youths snatched the purse from his wife and at gunpoint asked to remove her earrings, and gold bangles also. The complainant told the police that robbers looted and fled towards Dhilwan. He told that the number of the robbers' car is PB 65 AB 2606.

SP D Harvinder Singh, DSP Bhulath Sukhninder Singh, Subhanpur SHO Hardeep Singh, Begowal SHO Deepak Sharma , SHO BHOLATH INSP Gaurav Dheer reached the spot along with the police force after receiving information about this happening. By registering a case against the unknown robbers in Subhanpur police station, the investigation has been intensified. DSP BHOLATH Sukhninder Singh said that the matter is looking suspicious. The Police is investigating CCTV footages around the spot to clarify the situation further investigation is going on .
