
CBIhas arrested Principal Chief Engineer Suresh Chand Meena in the bribery caseafter raiding the Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala. 2.50 lakh cash has beenrecovered from the Chief Engineer. Apart from this, the CBI has also seizedsome documents. The chief engineer was looking after the workshop andbuilding work in the Rail Coach Factory. The accused had demanded a bribe of 1lakh from a contractor in lieu of tender and payment. RCF PRO Jitesh Kumar hasconfirmed this arrest.
TheCBI informed that Suresh Chand Meena, Principal Chief Engineer, Rail CoachFactory, Kapurthala, has been arrested for accepting one lakh bribe. A case hasbeen registered against him.
Thecontractor, who was engaged in civil and horticulture work in Rail CoachFactory Kapurthala, had complained that he had met Principal Chief EngineerSuresh Chand Meena in connection with tender and payment. During this, thePrincipal Chief Engineer asked him to pay 1% of the gross payment instead ofcontinuing the payment work.The CBI then tracked down in Kapurthala andarrested him red-handed taking a bribe of one lakh. The CBI also searched hisoffice and house in Kapurthala and Jaipur. Due to which many types of documentshave been recovered.
Theaccused Principal Chief Engineer has been produced before the CBI Court inMohali and sent to judicial custody for 14 days. Explain that in Rail CoachFactory, all the work including golf course, ground, colony is done under thesupervision of Chief Engineer.
TheCBI has taken this action late at 2.30 pm. A team of 5 officers had come toarrest the Chief Engineer. After a few hours of search, the officers took awaythe Chief Engineer along with the cash and documents.
