CBSE Term 2 Exams commence today: What are the key guidelines to be followed?

As there is still a threat of the pandemic, CBSE has prescribed some key guidelines and instructions for the students

CBSE Term 2 Exams are commencing today for the 10th and 12th. Earlier, the Central Board of Secondary Education announced they will be formally beginning with examination on 26th April 2022. The Term 2 exams are going to be conducted through offline mode i.e. the students have to write all the answers in their designated exam centers which are allotted by the board. The tentatively estimated marks that around 30 lakh students across both 10th and 12th class will appear in the examination. 

As there is still a threat of the pandemic so to examine smoothly and properly CBSE has prescribed some key guidelines and instructions for the students which are supposed to be strictly followed. Before the exams begin, the students need to be aware of all the key guidelines, dress code, admit card details and the precautionary measures against Covid-19. Some of those measures are mentioned below: 

Dress Code: All students appearing for the Exams are advised to wear their school uniforms to the exam center. Also, students should not wear civil clothes which are too heavy due to the intense heatwave which is around. 
Given 20 Minutes to Read Question Papers: Before the formal commencement of the exam, students will be provided 20 minutes additional time to read the question paper before they start writing answers. Therefore, students are advised to be seated on the allotted exam seat by 10:00 am.
Filling the details on Answer Sheet: In the additional time which is provided to the students, they will also have to fill in their necessary information including exam roll number and other details in the answer sheets. 
COVID-19 Precautions: With COVID positive cases increasing in urban areas, the Board has made arrangements to ensure the safety of the students.
Spaced Seating Arrangements: To avoid crowding within the exam hall, the board has designed spaced seating matrix for the students. In line with this, only 18 students are allowed to sit in an exam hall. 
What all the students can carry: Students are allowed to carry general stationery items, a transparent water bottle, a transparent bottle of hand sanitizer and a mask to the exam center. Students who suffer from diabetes or a medical condition are also allowed to carry a snack, as per the board rules.
COVID-19 Positive Students: If any student is showing COVID symptoms or any of their family members have tested positive for COVID, will be allowed to appear for the exam in an isolation room set-up at the exam center. 
Masks are mandatory: Some urban centers in North India have made masks mandatory again in public places. In line with this, students are advised to wear masks at the exam center during the entire duration of the exam.
There will be Thermal Scanning: As part of the COVID-19 precautions, all students and staff members will have to undergo thermal checks at the entry point of their exam center.
The Exam Timing: Exams will be conducted in the morning session for students of 10th and 12th class. The Examination will begin at 10:30 AM and finish around 12:30 PM.
The Exam Duration: The duration of exams will vary between 1.5 hours and 2 hours, depending on the subject and exam pattern being followed for that particular paper.
The Reporting time: Students are advised to report to the exam centers at least 1 hour before the exam around 9:30 am.
Last Reporting Time: Students will be allowed to enter the examination hall only until the start of the examination i.e., at 10 am.

CBSE Admit Cards: Admit cards issued by the Board through schools are mandatory for students appearing for the exam. No student will be allowed to enter the examination hall without an admit card.
Details on Admit Cards: The CBSE 10th and 12th Admit cards issued to the students must contain the signature of the school principal and the stamp of the school. Without these two details, the admit card will not be considered valid.
