Celebration erupts after Sanjeev Arora’s win; Mohinder Bhagat & Nitin Kohli say ‘mandate for honest governance'

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday scripted a massive double victory in Ludhiana West (Punjab) and Visavadar (Gujarat) bypolls. Following AAP's double win, a celebration erupted at Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli's party office. AAP supporters and party leaders, including Punjab Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat, Jalandhar Mayor Vaneet Dhir, and Jalandhar Improvement Trust Chairperson Rajvinder Kaur Thiara, joined the celebration.

Addressing the media, Nitin Kohli hailed the win as a “mandate for honest governance and delivery on guarantees.” He said, “People have reposed their faith in AAP because we fulfilled promises, be it free electricity, better schools, Mohalla clinics, or transparent governance. Our victories today validate the public’s approval of these efforts.”

Kohli further emphasized the state’s stance on critical issues like water policy and anti-drug campaigns. Highlighting the June 10 ‘Punjab Udyog Kranti’ reforms, he called it 'India’s first holistic industrial reform package', citing 12 key reforms to simplify investment and governance.

Cabinet Minister and Jalandhar West MLA Mohinder Bhagat termed the win a testament to 'people’s support for development and anti-drug campaigns like 'Yudh Nashian Virudh’.” He said, “This isn’t just a seat, it’s a referendum for clean and result-oriented governance.”

Mayor Vaneet Dhir called the result a “turning point in Punjab’s politics,” adding, “People are no longer swayed by gimmicks. The broom now symbolizes not only cleanliness but political integrity.”

Jalandhar Improvement Trust Chairperson Rajvinder Kaur Thiara said, “This victory shows that Punjab stands for development and honesty. It's a reflection of changing public sentiment, towards progress and accountability.”

At the celebration event marking Aam Aadmi Party’s victory in the Ludhiana West and Gujarat by-elections, several key leaders and prominent members of the AAP organization were present alongside Jalandhar Central Halka in-charge Nitin Kohli. The celebration was attended by the likes of Punjab Cabinet Minister and Jalandhar West MLA Mohinder Bhagat, Jalandhar Mayor Shri Vaneet Dhir, and Rajvinder Kaur Thiara, Chairperson of the Jalandhar Improvement Trust. 

Also present were district president Amritpal, AAP leaders Atul Bhagat and Chandan Grewal, as well as Ramesh Mittal, Chairman of the Lovely Group. From the Kartarpur Improvement Trust, Chairman Subhash Sharma also joined the celebration.

Key organizational figures such as Lok Sabha in-charge Ramnik Randhawa and Ludhiana Women Wing president Gurpreet Kaur added to the strength of the gathering. The district trade wing was represented by its president, Indervans Singh Chaddha.

Several other important AAP workers and leaders were also in attendance, including Atmaprakash Singh, Sanjeev Trehan, Vikas Grover, Tarun Sikka, Ajay Chopra, Naresh Sharma, Jatin Gulati, Harjeet Minhas, Ashok Sabharwal, Manish, Manjeet Rawat, Rajiv Gill, Kumkum, Amanpreet Kaur, and Ravinder Kaur Ganga Devi.

From the state-level leadership, Punjab Joint Secretary Harcharan Singh Sandhu and Deepak Sandhu also marked their presence. Active grassroots workers such as Rupinder Singh, Roni, Romi Wadhwa, AAP leader Deepak Kumar, Naresh Sharma (AAP), Ajay Chopra (AAP), Gurpreet Kaur, and Jatin Gulati added enthusiasm and organizational spirit to the event.
