Centre Adds Dark Chocolate & Turmeric Milk To Its List Of Immunity Building Foods Against COVID-19

Covid positive patients experiencing loss of taste and smell, the centre has recommended taking soft food at small intervals and adding amchur while cooking.

The centre today through its mygovindia Twitter handle has updated its list of foods to build immunity Against covid. It also said that people recovering from COVID-19 should focus more on rebuilding muscle, immunity and energy levels.

Loss of smell and taste has been found as the common symptoms of covid infection. As this leads to loss of appetite, patients find it difficult to swallow and muscle loss may happen. "It is important to eat soft foods at small intervals and to add amchur in the food," the guideline said.


Here's a list of dos for covid patient's diet:

# For vitamins and minerals, consume, 5 servings of fruits and vegetables 

# For calming anxiety, eat small amount of dark chocolate with atheist 70% cocoa

# To boost immunity,  drink Turmeric Milk

# Eat soft foods at small intervals with amchur for taste

# Add whole grains like ragi, oats and amaranth to the diet

# Increase protein intake with foods like chicken, fish, eggs, paneer, soy, nuts and seeds

# Include healthy fats like walnuts, almonds, olive oil and mustard oil in the diet.

As the second wave of COVID-19 is raging across the country, flu-like symptoms like fever and body ache are spreading panic. This has led to an uptick of unscientific home remedies on social media. The Centre has reiterated that the majority of infections will get cured at home with proper nutrition. The centre also advised regular exercise.
