
On March 8th, on International Women's Day, Phulkari (WOA)launched the 'Cervical Cancer Youth Ambassador Program'. This awareness programwas organized at Circuit House, Ludhiana. S. Sukhwinder Singh Bindra,Chairperson, Punjab Youth Development Board (Government of Punjab) Graced theoccasion as the Chief Guest.
Chairperson Sukhwinder Singh Bindra highly appreciated theprogram started by this organization. Phulkari WOA Founder Parneet Babbar saidthat this program brings us closer to our goal of making Punjab the firstCervical Cancer free Indian State by expanding our reach to spread awarenessamong the Youth of Punjab, which is the goal of the program. Phulkari W.O.A.President (2020-22) Deepa Sawani said that she is very proud to be able toassociate herself with the Punjab Youth Development Board as she and the Boardhave the same objectives. Phuikari WOA President ( 2020-22 ) , Deepa Swani saidthat they are very honoured to be able to associate ourselves with the PunjabYouth Development Board as our aims are aligned. Phulkari CAN ( PhilanthropicWing of Phulkari WOA ) President, Nidhi Sindhwani said that they havebeen working to spread Cervical Cancer awareness since 2018. They haveconducted 55 awareness sessions through which 2.6 Lakhs people have beenimpacted & conducted free screening for 150 underprivileged women. In thismonth alone they will be conducting free screening for 100 underprivilegedwomen.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairperson S. Sukhwinder SinghBindra said that he appealed to the Youth of the State to stay interested insports and stay away from drugs. S. Bindra said that Punjab Youth DevelopmentBoard under the able leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singhis fully committed for the Betterment and Welfare of the Youth of the State.
This program has been spearheaded by Program Head, PhulkariCAN's Conquer Cancer Priyanka Goyal. It was also attended by Phulkari WOA,Mentor Kamal Uppal & Program Heads Dr Richa Thaman & Neha Sharma. VicePresident Sheetal Khanna & Program Heads Dr Rashmi Vij & Dr Neeru Guptaare actively involved in all the activities conducted to eradicate CervicalCancer.
Apart from Mr. Nitin Tandon and Mr. Nitin Arora, Principalof Government College for Girls, Ludhiana Dr. Sukhwinder Kaur, President ofIndian Medical Association Dr. Saroj Agarwal, MC Councilor Rashi Agarwal andmany other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
