As a response to increasing tensions between India and Pakistan, the Chandigarh government has put out a stern advisory ordering the closure of all markets by 7 PM. The move is intended to promote public safety and order in the city at this critical time.

Only crucial services like medical shops and emergency centers will be permitted to function after the specified time. The rest of the shops, like roadside kiosks, will have to close down by the evening cut-off.

Police and PCR teams have been ordered to enforce these regulations strictly. Shopkeepers are also required to turn off CCTV cameras, signboard lights, and other outdoor lights after 7 PM. Regular patrols and announcements via loudspeakers are being made by the authorities, issuing warnings of severe action against those found violating the rules.

The administration asserts that these measures are precautionary and designed to ensure peace and security in the area.
